- Abstract
- he complex architectural configuration of the building is a direct consequence of a series of alterations carried out for functional and stylistic reasons, although more often as a result of catatstrophic events due to which the shape and actual way of using the building were changed: it was born as a religious complex and later turned into a covered market.
The report RE2 support an activity of central importance involving historical interpretation of the building phases of the monument by means the stratigraphic interpretation of the elevations, a building analysis technique that takes into account the various kinds of physical relations that exist among the transformation actions having left traces on the masonry. Analysis of the stratigraphic sequence was very complex and painstaking and was carried on various elevation front. It will be combined and accompanied by an analysis of other direct and indirect sources. The aim was to identify the successive building events and construction phases to which the monument was exposed over the centuries. (literal)
