"Dantedì" 2025: the first digital database of ancient commentaries on Dante's Commedia
Dante’s Commedia is the only major work of Italian literature that, since its earliest circulation, has always been accompanied by commentaries. On the occasion of “Dantedì 2025”, the national day dedicated to Dante Alighieri, celebrated on March 25, the first digital database of ancient commentaries on the Commedia is being released and named "Corpus CoDA", curated by the University of Naples "Federico II," the Institute Opera del Vocabolario Italiano (OVI) of the CNR and Sapienza University of Rome

Antarctica: The Oldest Ice on Its Way to Europe
The ice cores extracted in Antarctica as part of the Beyond EPICA - Oldest Ice project, funded by the European Commission and coordinated by the Institute of Polar Sciences of the National Research Council of Italy (Cnr), are currently en route to Europe aboard the research vessel Laura Bassi. These ice cores, extracted up to a depth of 2,800 meters, will be processed and analysed in the laboratories of the European research institutions involved in the project. They are expected to reveal crucial details about the Earth's climate and atmospheric history, dating back over 1.2 million years

A new study published by an international team of African, American, and European researchers offers a fresh perspective on the Neolithic transition in North Africa, shedding light on the remarkable genetic and cultural continuity of forager populations in the eastern Maghreb (modern-day Tunisia and eastern Algeria). This research provides the most detailed glimpse yet into the genetic history of ancient populations in the region, revealing how local forager groups preserved their genetic identity despite the arrival of farming and associated populations from Europe and Southwest Asia
Italian Minister Pichetto Fratin visits Consorzio RFX: a recognition of Italy's excellence in fusion research
On March 10th the Italian Minister of the Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, visited Consorzio RFX in Padua, an internationally renowned center for nuclear fusion research. Consorzio RFX, a collaboration between CNR, ENEA, INFN, the University of Padua, and Acciaierie Venete S.p.A., is a key reference point for plasma confinement studies and the development of advanced fusion technologies for the world’s largest experiments. Plenitude and Infrastrutture S.p.A., through the joint venture Hergo Renewables, have completed the construction of a new 37 MW agri-voltaic plant in the municipality of Montalto di Castro (Viterbo), Lazio. For the realization of the project, Hergo Renewables also collaborated with the National Biodiversity Future Centre (NBFC), coordinated by the National research council of Italy, with the aim of ensuring full respect for the biodiversity of the area where the plant is located
