Abstract

The general objective of the proposed cooperation situates in the realm of computational neuroscience and consists in the scientific assessment of the applicability of artificial intelligence to EEG data, recorded both from the scalp and intracranially. In particular, its performances in identifying brain patterns associated with human motion, both executed, imagined and observed, will be tested. Two main aspects will be addressed: on one side, it will be evaluated how predictive the artificial intelligence platform can be, if applied to neural activity recording, during active movements as well as during the perception of movements executed by others. On the other side, the same platform will be used to unravel at an unprecedented level the dynamic temporal and spatial interactions between different cortical areas.

Goals

To evaluate how predictive the artificial intelligence platform can be, if applied to neural activity recording, during active movements as well as during the perception of movements executed by others; 2) to test whether the same platform can be used to unravel at an unprecedented level the dynamic temporal and spatial interactions between different cortical areas.
