Abstract
The research aims to reduce the main weakness elements of the IWRM; therefore in a multi-disciplinary approach the research is addressed to develop: -methodologies and tools to model community decision making; - models able to reduce qualitative stress by chemical substances; biological methods for the definition of stressor-specific indicators; - development of multimetric systems to characterize the biological quality elements,- methods to assess ecotoxicological effects of pollutants and single mixture at sub-lethal concentrations,- chemical methods that can determine compounds at a greater biological impact, - radiochemical methods for the determination of radionuclides; -procedures to describe and to forecast water resources availability and supply in wide contest situations; - -activities aim to design methodologies and models for effective and efficient water monitoring; -laboratory and in situ techniques to evaluate the hydraulic parameters in rock; -analysis of microbial communities and of physical-chemical processes to define ecosystem quality state and to assess the potential natural remediation capability of soil and groundwater ecosystems.
