Italy: the beauty of knowledge

'Italy: the beauty of knowledge' is a traveling exhibition promoted and financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in collaboration with the National Research Council and four of the main Italian science museums: Idis-City of Science Foundation in Naples; Galileo Galilei Museum in Florence; MUSE - Trento Science Museum and Leonardo da Vinci National Science and Technology Museum in Milan.

The aim of the exhibition is to make the immense cultural heritage of our Country known abroad, even in its intangible aspects: a quality of life among the best in the world, an extraordinary territory with elements of great modernity and glimpse of the future, its great thinkers. Italy that looks to the future from the privileged point of view of giants’ shoulders: yesterday there were Leonardo da Vinci, Galileo Galilei, Enrico Fermi, Rita Levi-Montalcini, and tomorrow there will be many young researchers, full of talent and enthusiasm.

'Italy: the beauty of knowledge' covers over 400 square meters, specifically designed to attract the public and communicate dynamism and lightness. An exhibition area which, presenting emblematic examples of the close relationship between Italian research and the quality of life in Italy, illustrates the current trends in research and culture, and shows a dynamic Italy, which looks to the future.

Exploring the values, the economic-productive impact, and the effects on daily life of research carried out in Italy, the exhibition shows how the 'Renaissance spirit' that has characterized our Country over the centuries is still present nowadays, thanks to the many Italian scientists who occupy leading positions in all research fields, and keeps a strong relationship between technology and culture, science and art.

From research activity 'on the field' at the national research centres and laboratories, from hi-tech industries to the many innovative start-ups, 'Italy: The Beauty of Knowledge' is a showcase of Italian avant-garde skills and technologies in the fields of health, environment, space, food, and cultural heritage. A journey into the Italy of knowledge, that of Italian researchers who stand out in the world for competence and creativity.
